New Horizon Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization working full time in the transfer and care of “death row” dogs and cats contained in high-kill shelters. The adoption fee is often less than the expense to rehabilitate. We do not refuse animals based on their breed, age or health condition. We do not refuse heartworm positive dogs nor mange-infested dogs. Our treatments, paid in full by our rescue, have been unanimously successful in rendering afflicted dogs to healthy status.
NEW HORIZON 911 EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND TRANSPORT: We travel within a 6-hour radius for puppies tested positive for the deadly Parvovirus at shelters. Since time is of the essence, we initiate treatment immediately upon arrival at the shelter. The protocol we developed proves highly successful in saving the lives of puppies who would otherwise have been euthanized.
All dogs under New Horizon Dog Rescue, Inc., are veterinarian examined, spayed/neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested, bathed and exercised regularly, fed only 5-star foods, toenails addressed, ears cleaned, provided flea/tick and heartworm prevention monthly, temperament assessed and provided professional behavioral modification if needed.
Without the assistance of loving families, our ability to save lives is drastically reduced. We have dogs of all shapes and sizes; all veterinary expenses are covered by the
rescue. Approximately 3.5 million dogs are euthanized in the US each year, and
that includes whole litters of puppies and young adults with enormous potential.
Won’t you please consider helping to save just one?
We have foster homes in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco Counties.
